How these prices are worked out
Every figure here comes from real listings people posted on Animalsss — the price a seller actually typed when putting an animal up for sale. We group them by the currency they were posted in (rupees today), take the typical middle price and the range most sellers fell within, and we only show a figure when enough real listings stand behind it. Where you ask for a breed or a state, we narrow to just those listings — and if there aren't enough of them yet, we say so and show the overall range instead rather than invent a number.
These are asking prices — what sellers wanted — not a verified market rate or a live mandi price, and the newest listings behind them are a couple of years old. Treat the range as a guide to what people ask, then see the current live listings and talk to sellers for today's price.
Common questions
How much does a goat / horse / cow cost?
It depends on the breed, age, size and where you buy. On Animalsss, the typical asking prices sellers posted run roughly: goats around ₹18,000, horses around ₹1,50,000, cows around ₹35,000 and buffalo around ₹70,000 — but each spans a wide range. Pick the animal above for its full breed-by-breed and state-by-state breakdown.
Are these live, today's prices?
No. These are asking prices — what a seller typed when they posted — not a verified market rate, and the listings behind them are a couple of years old. They tell you what people ask for, which is a good starting point; for today's price, see the current live listings and talk to sellers.
Why is everything shown in rupees?
Because the real listings behind these figures were posted in India, in rupees. When you pick your country we add an approximate conversion beside the rupee figure so it means something to you — but we never relabel a rupee price as a dollar or pound one, because the sellers priced in rupees and that is the honest number.
What if there's no price for the breed or state I want?
Then we don't have enough real listings for it yet, and we say so rather than make a number up — we show the overall range for that animal instead. As more people list, those breakdowns fill in on their own.
