A Persian in Siamese colours — a long luxurious coat, flat face, blue eyes and colour-pointed markings.
How to spot it
Essentially a pointed Persian: a cobby, medium cat 3–5.5 kg with a long dense double coat, a flat face and big round blue eyes, wearing Siamese-style points (seal, blue, chocolate, lilac and more) on a pale body.
Personality
Calm, sweet and placid like a Persian, with a touch more playfulness from its Siamese heritage. A quiet, affectionate lap cat that suits a peaceful indoor home.
Grooming & coat care
As demanding as a Persian's: the long double coat mats within days without daily combing to the skin, and the flat face needs its eyes wiped daily to prevent staining.
Health & lifespan
Around 12–15 years. It shares Persian risks — breathing trouble and dental crowding from the flat face, plus polycystic kidney disease (PKD) — so buy from a breeder who DNA-tests.
Living with one in India
Like the Persian, the heavy coat and flat face both make heat hard, so a Himalayan needs a cool, air-conditioned or well-ventilated indoor home in summer and daily grooming through humid, dusty months.
